Relational Integrative Psychotherapy & Coaching with Garthine Walker
Psychotherapy & Coaching Online and in Cardiff

finding your path towards hope, healing and growth

Welcome!

Whether you’ve found your way here via a directory listing, a personal or professional referral, or through serendipity, welcome!

There are myriad reasons why you might be considering therapy right now (see my ‘Why Psychotherapy?’ page). Are you holding it together on the outside but inside feel like you’re hanging on by your fingertips? The cost to us can be dear: unsatisfying relationships with others, underachieving in our creativity or career, and fearing that the worst things we say to ourselves are true. Sooner or later, we realise that we can’t – we simply don’t want – to go on like this.

I offer relational integrative psychotherapy on a short-, medium- and long-term basis online, in person, and outdoors. Most of my psychotherapy work tends to be medium-term (six months or more) or long-term (lasting one or more years). You don’t need to know before you start how many sessions you might want or need. We usually begin with at least six to eight sessions and take it from there. We work towards awareness, understanding, and change: discovering what’s right for you in alignment with your core values. You can find out more about how I work on the ‘My Approach’ page.

I am also an accredited coach so it may be that coaching sessions would suit you better. It depends on where you are on your journey and what you wish to achieve from working with me. See my ‘Coaching with Garthine’ page for more details.

For my training, background and credentials, see the ‘About Garthine’ page. Briefly put, I hold a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma (Level 7) in Integrative Psychotherapy, am a full clinical and accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), an Accredited Professional Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am a European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) Accredited Coach at Practitioner Level, and am near to completing a Senior Coach Practitioner (Level 7) qualification leading to further accreditation with EMCC Global.

Fees

My standard psychotherapy fee is £95 for each 50-minute session. I have several concessionary places at reduced rates for those in positions of financial hardship, for trainee therapists, and for students in full-time education; I invite you to discuss this at the initial meeting. At present, these places are taken and a waitlist is in operation. If you prefer not to wait or we decide we’re not the best fit, I have a wide network of excellent colleagues to whom I shall be happy to refer you if that would be helpful. For coaching fees, please see my coaching page.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Psychotherapy appointments are usually held weekly at the same time on a recurring basis. I operate a one-week cancellation and rescheduling policy. There is no charge for cancellations made with a full week’s notice. If you need to cancel at short notice and wish to reschedule, I shall make every effort to fit you in (without a cancellation fee) before the Friday of the same week. However, if rescheduling is not possible, with less than a week’s notice, the full fee will be due.

First Steps

If you would like to speak to me briefly by phone (free of charge) to help you decide whether to book an initial session, just let me know. If you prefer to make that initial booking straight away, that’s fine too. All initial meetings are online, regardless of whether we proceed to further sessions online, in-person or outdoors. The initial session, like subsequent ones, costs £95 and lasts for 50 minutes.

Just click the button below and leave your contact details. I’ll aim to respond to you within 24 hours on weekdays, so if you don’t hear from me, check your Spam folder!
